Dear Friends and Family
Here we are….. still in Bonny Scotland!
It’s hard to believe that 2 years has just past.

Judy and her Highland Cow ( i-lan coo)

Jan & Judy enjoy a typical Scottish day at Edinburgh Castle
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary with my sister Jan and her friend Judy, our first family to come visit us here in the UK.

The girls at Pittenweem Harbour
What a blessing to have them here, to show them all that God has been doing and to take them on a wee tour of the beautiful highlands and the sea.
It has been a long time since our last prayer letter so there is a lot to share. We will spare you unnecessary details but give you a flavor of all the Lord has accomplished here and in us personally.
When we returned from our visit to the States early in the year we came back to the Spring term here in the college in full swing.
We missed 6 full weeks of snow here but unfortunately not the damage it did to this very old building. Scott has had one project after the other this entire year.

New "Disabled Suite" Toilets...
Some have been remodeling and some just the constant patch work until something permanent can be done.
In the process of being here at the Faith Mission Bible College we have had the opportunity to work with the students, teaching them how to serve practically as the body of Christ and to minister to their lives in just practical living with the body of Christ.

Our second year students graduated in June and went on to their summer work and now the students are off in the work of the ministry in one capacity or another. Praise the Lord!
We just began our school term here and once again are working with the students in the practical sense. The Lord has also given us the privilege of having prayer and praise nights with the students. It is such a blessing to be involved in the lives of these young people who choosing to yield their lives to the Lord’s sovereignty and then actively go forth to serve Him.
Please be praying for the Bible College as a whole, we are in the process of becoming an accredited British College in order to bring in foreign students. The visa process has become very laborious and this will allow the college to be a sponsor which is now necessary for anyone applying for a Visa.
Scott and I serve here with Calvary Chapel of Edinburgh which is a very small fellowship in a little village called Danderhall. For a little tiny church we have had a lot things going this year and we are all encouraged that the Lord is at work in the hearts and lives of the people here in Danderhall. We have partnered with a small Church of Scotland in the area to do Children and Youth outreach. It’s a slow go but we are seeing some response from the youth in particular.
We have a youth club on Wednesday and Friday evening. We started with one night a week and the youth (11-14 yrs.) asked for another.
As of yet none have committed their lives to Christ but they come every week and ask questions and want to know more. Please pray that the Lord would give them the courage to make a decision for Christ. The godlessness of this country is unbelievable, the children a literally born skeptics. They hear but they do not perceive.
We have one dear girl, Laura, who has told us that she wants to be a Christian but is afraid of what she might have to give up if she does. However, she is reading her Bible and has even been discussing the Lord with her folks. Pray that she along with Bradley and Lewis will have the courage to yield to the calling of the Lord.
We are also offering an Explorers Club on Friday afternoons, this is for the Primary children (4-10 yrs.) It has been low in numbers but this group has been consistent. The Lord has provided us with 2 young women to organize the club.

Dan Starling and Zoe Carter and Danderhall Kids
Please pray for Zoe who heads up our children’s programs. She is young and very innovative and so desires to see these little ones come to Christ.
Our other worker is a former Faith Mission Children’s worker, Becky. She is an American from So. Carolina and has been here for 5 years. The Lord has long been putting it on her heart to work with one church and develop the children’s program.
She will be in the States for the next few months to raise support to come back in January and work for us. Please be praying for her as well. As you can see God is putting together a fantastic team and we are excited to see how He is moving and will move in the lives of these children and then their parents.

Becky & Children's Worship
In addition to the Children’s work we have a women’s study. We began a year ago October. We have been going through the Old Testament women of the Bible this last year. We meet every other Tuesday evening. It has been an amazing time to study the Word together and to look at the women that God has brought to the forefront.
We have looked into their lives examining their circumstances and seeing how God intervened in their lives. We have even looked at the “bad girls” like Delilah and Jezabel and Job’s wife. It has actually been intense at times but has led us to a deeper understanding of God’s intimacy with each one of us and how He desires to be close to us and move on our behalf if we will allow Him.
We also have a mid-week study on Thursdays. Scott and Dan teach every other week. This last year we did a study in Zechariah and the Truth Project which many of you are familiar with. It’s very interesting to come at it from a British point of view. We are finishing up in Zechariah and beginning the Attributes of God. It’s a lively group with plenty of discussion.
The Lord has blessed me with Becky to help me lead the worship of our congregation. It has been a great honor to serve the Lord in this way. He continually amazes me week by week as He puts what He wants to say together.
As of last month I attended my 3rd Calvary Chapel Scotland Women’s Retreat. It has grown each year and this year we had 50 ladies with a waiting list. Please pray that we will find a new center to meet at as we have outgrown the facility we are currently using.
Many of you know that the Aberdeen area of the country has long been on Scott’s and my heart and yet the door has not been open for us to go to the area.
This summer we were contacted by a young woman up in the area asking if there would ever be a Calvary Chapel up in the area. In the process of correspondence another couple emailed as well asking questions regarding Calvary, not knowing anything about us as a church. They asked if we would come up and meet them and pray with them.
So in mid-August we went. It turns out that it’s a house church and the husband of the couple that emailed has been teaching. He has found that he needs a bit of accountability since the rest of his wee flock is all women. They have asked if we would come up about once a month to teach and support what the Lord is doing there and to be that accountability. We don’t know if it will be more than that in the future but we are heartened to see the Lord moving in the area and to be a part of it.
Please pray for for Paul and Rachel and this fellowship in Banchory which is in Aberdeenshire. Also pray for our means to get there which brings me to what’s going on with us personally.
As of right now we have no vehicle or at least not one that runs. We have been without wheels for over a month now. The Lord has graciously provided something for us to drive through the Mission as we have had need of but we must get this sorted. Please pray for the provision necessary and the right vehicle for us to drive.
Overall the year has been good. On the most part Scott has stayed healthy and physically strong enough to keep up with the work here at the mission. We are very blessed for His continous hand upon us.
I on the other hand have had a difficult go and yet have found the Lord’s hand upon holding me continuously. In late Spring we discovered that the Thyroid medication I had been prescribed here was not the same as what I was taking in the States. The issue with it was that because it was synthetic it is measured differently and I was on approximately 3x to much for 2 years. It played out in heart issues, exhaustion, and near collapse on some days.
When it was discovered I immediately went to the doctor, they did blood work and began lowering my dosage but told me I couldn’t get the other medicine. The long and short is that I’ve been sent to specialists and we are working through the issues. It’s been a long process but I’m finally beginning to feel better. It’s been difficult to adjust to the culture and be ill most of the 2 years. I pray to be in touch as I improve. Please pray that I would be able to stabilize on a dosage and that they will continue to be willing to work with me.
We also put in our application for a new Visa. We requested a 3 year but would be happy with at least a 2 year. Praise the Lord our 3 year visas have arrived and that is something we do not have to worry about for awhile.
As you can see the Lord has kept us quite busy and He is moving in many ways here. This continues to be a very dark and hard hearted place and your prayers for the people of Scotland are very needed. We are so encouraged by those of you that tell us you pray for us daily, even when you haven’t heard from us. It has lifted our arms and given us courage to face the days.
“All authority of heaven and earth has been given to me, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.”
No work can go forth without the prayers of the saints. Please join us as prayer partners in bringing the Truth of the Gospel to the lost peoples of Scotland. Please feel free to look at our prayer page by clicking the tab above
Pray that we would be faithfully teaching the Word of God and that He would have it reach the ears and hearts of those He intends to hear it and that He would add to His kingdom as He wills.
Pray for the Faith Mission Bible College that we would qualify for the Visa Accreditation so that the foreign students that are waiting would be able to come. Pray for the students that are here presently that the Lord would be their encouragement and strength.
Pray for Calvary Chapel Danderhall and the people of our village that so need Jesus. That their hearts would not only be open but that they might be able to respond to His calling.
Pray for our Pastor and family, Dan and Pat Starling.
Pray for the house church in Aberdeenshire that the Lord would grow them in Himself and that He would provide for us to go up once a month.
If the Lord has moved in your heart and you desire to be part of the ministry here in Scotland on a monthly basis or a one off all of our information is available… see the tab above…
Again we are so grateful to each of you for your love and prayers and your concern for us.
“And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness f Him who fills all and all” Eph. 1:22,23.

Blessings in Christ to you all, Scott and Patti Worth
