DUNFERMLINE CHURCH MOVING?
Posted by on July 14, 2009
The Fellowship has been meeting in Dunfermline High for quite a few years.
Well things are changing. there had been a change in the council’s hierarchy and the new head wanted to make changes. The change would have put us out on the street at least 8 weeks during the year….
We had been considering the idea of a Sunday evening service anyway and this development pushed us along in the search for a location. We contacted a number of churches, community centres, and the like.
One of the churches, Dunfermline United Reformed Church, has offered us the use of their church.
I spoke with the Minister and she asked for our statement of faith and a letter of intent for her to take
to her elder board. Apparently the board was keen on the idea and suggested that the offer be made at no charge with the exception of additional utility charges.
This is a beautiful old church with wooden pews and huge segmented windows etc.
It is in the Town Centre and we could have our evening service and other events as well…
We will begin evening services the second Sunday in August…
Please pray for fruit as we venture in the city centre and offer an opportunity for many to hear the Word and respond.
